Introduction
With the high demand for Childcare Workers in Australia, the occupation has now been added to the Core Skill Occupations List (CSOL). This change has opened up new pathways to Permanent Residency for Childcare Workers.
Childcare Workers are now eligible to apply for the 482 (Skills in Demand) Essential Skills Visa in any Australian city.
They can also apply for the 186 Permanent Employer Sponsored Visa (Direct Entry Stream) after completing three years of full-time work experience.
Important: For both the 482 and 186 visas, applicants:
✅ Must have an approved employer to nominate them
✅ Must be paid at least AUD 76,515
What if I can’t get paid AUD 76,515?
If you are unable to secure the required salary, you may still be eligible for the 407 Training Visa.
