Quantity Surveying, also known as a quantitative surveying, is one of the most popular field of engineering majors for many international students.

In addition, with recent high growth rates of the industry, and with many benefits for international students to stay in Australia, Quantity Surveying will continue to be a popular program.

What is a Quantity Surveying?

Quantity Surveyor (QS) –  will estimate and monitor the cost of a building from the beginning of the process to the completion of construction. QS’s mission is to manage the value of money and the costs of a construction project. They will look for the smallest cost while meeting the standards and quality requirements.

QS analysis based on the drawing of the architects, from which to calculate, estimate the volume of materials as well as labor involved. They will conclude their calculated volume in the volume or prediction table, which is then used by project managers or construction contractors to estimate the total cost of construction.
